La première usine électrique photovoltaïque de Shandong prend forme à CNPV

DONGYING, China, July 29, 2009/PRNewswire-Asia/ -- CNPV, a leading multi product solar company that produces ingots, wafers, cells & solar modules, and has strong presence in the solar photovoltaic space that designs, manufactures and supplies highly efficient and cost effective crystalline solar photovoltaic modules, today announced the Shandong's first photovoltaic grid-connected power plant was starting to take shape.

The 960KWp solar photovoltaic grid-connected power plant started construction in early July, was starting to take shape by the end of the month, and some of the solar panels were already being installed. The first stage of the project, which is under construction in the CNPV plant area occupies 5,500 m2 of land and represents a total investment of 46 million yuan (RMB). The project is expected to be completed and begin operations at the end of March, 2010. Upon completion it will become Shandong province's largest and first grid-connected power generating solar photovoltaic power plant.

The technical aspects of photovoltaic power generation have not been a difficult problem for quite a while, but because its costs are far greater than that of thermal power generation, it has long been difficult to realize grid-connected power generation. Was this 960KWp solar photovoltaic grid-connected power plant project in Dongying a wise investment? Mr. Zhang Shunfu,CEO is quite certain that it was, and said" We produce all the photovoltaic components needed in the plant ourselves, and the entire plant system can operate for at least 25 years, meaning that the resulting benefits will far exceed conservative forecasts."

As the main market for the photovoltaic industry is developed countries in Europe and America, it has been hit the hardest by the financial crisis, and component prices have continually fallen. This was when Mr. Zhang Shunfu,CEO came up with the plan of investing himself in a photovoltaic power plant. Zhang Shunfu said, China has the need for photovoltaic power generation, and the policies are extremely supportive. We also have the ability and capacity to product photovoltaic components ourselves, so why not build our own plant? We will be able to show customers our outstanding products and help develop the photovoltaic power industry, so why not do it?" said Mr. Zhang shunfu CEO.

Mr. Zhang shunfu,CEO,aslo the vice president of the Shandong Solar Energy Industry Association, said"Actually, CNPV's 960KWp photovoltaic grid-connected power plant is not that large, and the affect it will have on leading the industry will be greater than its actual economic value." Dongying may use the 960KWp photovoltaic plant as a precursor for developing services and related businesses to support the photovoltaic power generation industry; helping photovoltaic enterprises extend up and down the industry chain; increasing industry support capacity and level of development; expanding space for industry convergence; and forming a photovoltaic industry chain with Dongying characteristics, production of related photovoltaic products, and an industry base for the manufacture of inspection equipment and raw and auxiliary materials.
